Here are the notes I made during the lecture of Henry Astley.

Visual research wk2

(RECOGNIZE THE SNAKE IN “BACKGROUND APP)

Skype interview - the snake guy - Henry Astley

Snake locomotion/snake movement and how the two are related

Snakes have loads of patterns and colours, (3500 species of snake)

Loads of convergence in pattern en lifestyle

Timber rattlesnake, Gabon viper snake(Africa), death adder, Australia.

Slow, heavy snakes tend to be camouflaged

Sit on 1 place and wait for food. 2 snakes… one is toxic, one is mimic(non poisonous)

Unicoloured/striped snakes = Fas paced snakes, slender. Stripes are there so u can’t really tell how fast they are moving, eyes can’t focus on the snake, (snakes are rarely fully exposed, can only see part of the snakes )

Current studies = Group the snakes by patterns, and reported behaviour, correlations between behaviour and pattern were shown to exist. Similar trends are in shown in snakes which can change color as the grey( From baby to older, some of the snakes, get stripes or unicoloooor when they increase speed) NOBODY HAS TESTED IT IF ITS TRUE.

Humans vision is pretty good for animals, top 10 procent. With the app u can vary the speed, movement, shapes etc, u can vary them independently.

You can layer the snake so u can’t see it, spot the snake game app.

Games like Temple run, ant smasher(tap the ants to squish him). Touch the wasp its game over. (Gain data, send the data back, this type of snake was caught for example 20 procent of the time) this type of snake was caught faster than the other one because it was striped or camouflaged.

, desert, Clipart, forest floor (Dead leaves, some of the snakes could be brown, but others could be the opposite so they could be picked more often ), wallpaper, leaf (background images idea). City backgrounds maybe?

FASTEST SNAKE IS THE BLACK MAMBA.
